Bloodshot Eyes is the debut EP from MINƎRVA. Discussing topics such as the anger of loss, the grief of a spectator, the struggles of an unbalanced relationship, the questions of understanding those around you and the thoughts when needing to escape reality. Bloodshot Eyes laces driving, gritty instrumentation, with melodic vocals to create a heavy rock backdrop that carries the emotion and stories written within the songs.
Recorded at JBJ Studios on Portobello Road in London, 'Bloodshot Eyes' was mixed by Jamie Brown and features vocals and guitar from Minerva, guitar and bass from Daniel Curcio, drums from Marko Obradovic and bass from Josh Dougherty, with Daniel Curcio leading production and Dan Clark stepping in as recording engineer.
Asking if there's more to life than getting drunk at parties and falling in love, MINƎRVA hones in on that all too familiar feeling of not quite fitting in with your peers, and asks if there's more she can be looking for.
After finding out her dad was in an old punk band of the same name as a teenager, the name Icarus stuck in Minerva's head and once she had read the story of Icarus, Minerva wrote this song.
